Right-wing provocateur Milo Yiannopoulos has returned to the United Kingdom following his deportation from the United States, according to the Department of Homeland Security. U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement detained Yiannopoulos at Louis Armstrong New Orleans International Airport in Louisiana after determining he had overstayed a legal visa obtained in 2019.
ICE Detention and Final Removal Order
Immigration and Customs Enforcement detained Yiannopoulos on Thursday. Officials stated that Yiannopoulos received a final order of removal from an immigration judge on July 22 and failed to attend his scheduled immigration hearing. DHS released a booking photograph of Yiannopoulos in detention before he was flown back to the United Kingdom, where he arrived on Saturday, according to reporting by TMZ.

The deportation prompted reactions across the American political spectrum. Far-right activist Laura Loomer claimed credit for alerting authorities to Yiannopoulos’s immigration status during an interview with The New York Times. Yiannopoulos previously worked on political campaigns for Loomer and former Representative Marjorie Taylor Greene. Greene denied claims by Loomer that Yiannopoulos had lived at her home in Rome, Georgia, while working as an intern on her podcast and book projects. Enrique Tarrio, the former leader of the Proud Boys, posted “Good riddance” on X following the announcement of the deportation.
