The blood drive will take place from 10 a.m. to 7:30 p.m. at the Drummondville military drill hall, located at 250 Saint-Louis Street, according to the Ville de Drummondville. Professional staff from Héma-Québec will oversee the collection process throughout the day. Mayor Jean-François Houle agreed to chair the initiative following his own experiences as a medical patient receiving blood products, according to the Ville de Drummondville. “Donating blood is a generous act,” Houle said in a public statement released by the city. “I am well-placed to know this: I myself benefited from transfusions of blood, hemoglobin, and platelets that helped save my life. This cause is therefore deeply close to my heart. I hope to see you this September 9 to exceed the goal of 200 donations in a single day.”
