Drummondville Mayor Jean-François Houle Chairs Blood Drive on Sept 9

Drummondville Mayor Jean-François Houle is serving as the honorary president for an upcoming municipal blood drive scheduled for September 9, 2026, according to an announcement by the Ville de Drummondville. The event aims to collect more than 200 donations to support collective blood reserves managed by Héma-Québec.

Blood Drive Details and Schedule

The blood drive will take place from 10 a.m. to 7:30 p.m. at the Drummondville military drill hall, located at 250 Saint-Louis Street, according to the Ville de Drummondville. Professional staff from Héma-Québec will oversee the collection process throughout the day. Héma-Québec recommends that donors schedule an appointment in advance through the official Héma-Québec appointment portal or by calling 1-800-343-7264, noting that the donation process takes approximately one hour.

Mayor Houle’s Personal Connection to the Cause

Mayor Jean-François Houle agreed to chair the initiative following his own experiences as a medical patient receiving blood products, according to the Ville de Drummondville. “Donating blood is a generous act,” Houle said in a public statement released by the city. “I am well-placed to know this: I myself benefited from transfusions of blood, hemoglobin, and platelets that helped save my life. This cause is therefore deeply close to my heart. I hope to see you this September 9 to exceed the goal of 200 donations in a single day.”
