Sam Northeast anchored the Kent innings with an unbeaten 96, while England international Zak Crawley contributed 54, marking his third half-century in his last five innings. According to match reports, Kent’s second innings began poorly when Ben Compton was dismissed for a duck after driving Tom Taylor to Daniel Lategan at point. Crawley and Northeast steadied the innings to reach 51-1 at tea. Crawley eventually edged a delivery behind off Adam Finch after getting bogged down past his fifty. Tawanda Muyeye added 23 before he was caught by Ben Allison off Beyers Swanepoel, leaving Northeast just four runs short of a century at the close of play.
Worcestershire Dismissed for 217 in First Innings
Earlier in the match, Worcestershire were bowled out for 217 in their first innings. Bangladesh Test fast bowler Hasan Mahmud led the Kent attack with 4-68, while Matt Milnes claimed 3-52. Despite a mini-partnership between Tom Taylor and Matthew Waite that pushed the total to 180-6 by lunch, both batters fell quickly in the afternoon session as Kent seized control of the fixture.
