All Elite Wrestling has secured an extension until December 2, 2026, to serve former wrestler Ryan Nemeth with legal papers in their ongoing court dispute, according to reporting by Brandon Thurston of Wrestlenomics. A magistrate granted the motion after AEW asserted that Nemeth is actively evading service of process.
The legal battle stems from a lawsuit filed by Nemeth against AEW, Tony Khan, and CM Punk. Nemeth alleged assault, breach of contract, breach of the implied covenant of good faith and fair dealing, and intentional interference with prospective advantage. According to court filings, the dispute initially headed toward private arbitration before stalling over jurisdictional disagreements.

AEW filed a petition accusing Nemeth of misleading the court by voluntarily dismissing his initial lawsuit to enter arbitration in bad faith. The promotion seeks to compel Nemeth to arbitrate the matter at a JAMS administrative office near Duval County, Florida, operating under Florida law. Conversely, Nemeth has attempted to shift the arbitration proceedings to California.

AEW contends that California labor law does not apply to the situation because Nemeth operated as an independent contractor rather than a traditional employee.
