The Transcontinental Gas Pipe Line Company, LLC filed a prior notice request with the Federal Energy Regulatory Commission to expand its pipeline infrastructure in Louisiana and Texas, according to regulatory filings from April 2026. The Gillis West Expansion Project aims to provide 115,000 dekatherms per day of incremental firm transportation capacity.
Project Scope and Infrastructure Plans
According to Federal Energy Regulatory Commission documents, the project entails two primary construction components designed to bolster regional natural gas delivery. Transcontinental Gas Pipe Line Company, LLC plans to install three new delivery meter stations and modify Station 35 in Harris County, Texas. Additionally, the company will expand the existing Louisiana Southwest LW269 Valve Site located in Beauregard and Allen Parishes, Louisiana.
The infrastructure enhancements will establish a direct route for firm transportation capacity originating from the existing Transco mainline in Beauregard Parish, Louisiana, and terminating at the three proposed delivery points in Harris County, Texas. According to project filings, the estimated total cost for the construction and modifications is $28,697,634.
Regulatory Filings and Public Participation
The request was filed under Docket No. CP26-218-000 pursuant to sections 157.205, 157.208, 157.210, and 157.211 of the Commission’s regulations under the Natural Gas Act. Transco submitted the application under its blanket certificate issued in Docket No. CP82-426-000.
Eastern Time on June 26, 2026, for interested parties to file protests, motions to intervene, or comments. Participation in the proceeding carries no fee or cost. Under section 157.205 of the regulations, if no protests are filed within the allotted window—or if filed protests are withdrawn within 30 days after the protest period—the proposed activity achieves authorization on the day following the deadline.
