Roseanna Brown on Starring Alongside Andrew Scott in ‘Pressure

Actress and singer Roseanna Brown recently reflected on her breakout experience filming the historical drama Pressure, highlighting the freeing nature of acting and sharing insights into working alongside seasoned co-stars like Andrew Scott and Damian Lewis, according to reporting from the BBC.

Filming Pressure and Working With Established Co-Stars

Roseanna Brown, who is based primarily in Los Angeles, described her time on the set of Pressure as an amazing learning opportunity, according to the BBC. The feature film launched in the United States on May 29. Brown recalled watching the principal cast bounce off each other during production, noting the distinct approaches her fellow actors brought to the set.

According to the BBC, Brown singled out Damian Lewis—widely known for his roles in Homeland and Band of Brothers—as a consistently courteous presence who greeted her every morning. She observed that Lewis maintained a clear boundary with his craft, transitioning easily in and out of character between takes, while other members of the ensemble preferred to stay immersed in their roles.

Collaborating With Andrew Scott on Set

Brown also shared details about sharing scenes with Andrew Scott, offering a contrast to his other prominent screen personas. According to the BBC, she remarked that it was very nice to see an Andrew Scott who was not playing James Stagg. Describing a specific phone call scene performed opposite Scott, Brown recalled thinking to herself after each cut, “I’m really doing this with Andrew Scott.”

Following the completion of their scenes together, Scott provided Brown with specific, positive feedback, praising her performance for doing an absolutely fantastic job, according to the BBC. Brown emphasized the importance of giving creative space to performers tackling complex characters within the narrative.

Audience Reception and Regional Appeal

Reflecting on the distribution of the project, Brown noted that she anticipates the film will carry a different type of appeal for audiences in the UK compared to international viewers, according to the BBC.
