Upper West Side mornings are getting a new address. Café Alon, a high-end kosher Mediterranean coffee shop and bakery, has locked in a fall 2026 debut at 200 West End Avenue, brand representatives have confirmed.
Ground-Floor Spot at 29-Story Condominium
The upcoming neighborhood fixture will anchor the ground floor of a 29-story condominium building nestled neatly between West 69th and 70th streets.
Roots in Israel and Family Tribute
Behind the venture is Ofer Puder, an Israel-based restaurant operator who chose to name the destination after his son, Alon. In Hebrew, the moniker translates to oak tree. Organizers selected the symbol specifically to evoke stability, strength, family, warm hospitality, and community right on the avenue.
Fresh Pastries and Daily Operating Hours
When doors finally open, patrons can expect a menu centered on in-house baked goods, daily fresh-baked burekas, a rotating selection of pastries, gourmet sandwiches, and classic grilled cheese, alongside a complete lineup of coffee and other beverages. Finalized menu details are expected closer to the public launch.

Operations are anticipated to run from 6:30 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. daily. True to its kosher certification, the shop will observe traditional closures on Saturdays and Jewish holidays.
