England second row Delaney Burns has signed a new contract with Premiership Women’s Rugby club Bristol Bears, according to an announcement from the club. The 24-year-old forward reached her 100th appearance for Bristol during a match against Harlequins, following her arrival at the club in 2019.

Burns follows England teammate Demelza Short in committing her future to the Bristol Bears. While the club has not disclosed the exact length of the new agreement, head coach Scott Lawson highlighted Burns’ durability and consistency within the squad. According to Lawson, reaching 100 appearances at a young age underscores the high standards she sets daily on and off the field.
“Pulling on the shirt every week means a lot, and I’m excited to keep pushing myself and contributing to what we’re building as a group,” Burns said, according to Bristol Bears.

Bristol Bears League Return
Bristol Bears are scheduled to return to Premiership Women’s Rugby action on May 30 to contest the final two matches of their campaign. Burns and fellow contract-extension signee Demelza Short are expected to feature as the team looks to close out the season.
