A United States Secret Service agent assigned to a security detail for Donald Trump was arrested in Miami after police found him masturbating in a hotel hallway, according to the Miami-Dade Sheriff’s Office. John Spillman, 33, was taken into custody just after midnight on May 4, 2026, at the DoubleTree by Hilton Miami Airport Hotel and Convention Center.

According to a police statement reported by The U.S. Sun, officers discovered Spillman with his pants lowered at the end of the sixth-floor hallway. Investigators stated that Spillman was off-duty at the time of the incident but had been working in Florida as an external part of Donald Trump’s security detail during the 2026 PGA Cadillac Championship.
A hotel guest told police that Spillman had followed her group from the hotel lobby up to the sixth floor. The woman reported that she and others immediately entered their room out of fear for their lives before spotting Spillman masturbating next to the doorway, prompting them to contact hotel security.
Secret Service Response and Administrative Action
Secret Service Chief Richard Macauley addressed the arrest in a public statement, calling the alleged conduct unacceptable. Macauley stated that the behavior stands in stark contrast to the professionalism and integrity demanded of agency personnel.
The agency placed Spillman on administrative leave pending the outcome of both criminal and internal investigations. Spillman, a native of Marble Falls, Texas, is being held at the Turner Guilford Knight Correctional Center on a $1,000 bond, according to local authorities.
