An 85-year-old woman died following a two-vehicle collision on the Windyhill Road in Coleraine on Saturday afternoon, September 12, 2026, according to the Police Service of Northern Ireland (PSNI). Emergency services responded to the incident at approximately 12:30pm, where the victim was pronounced dead at the scene.
Police Investigation and Witness Appeals
The victim was identified by the PSNI as Maud Kerr from the Macosquin area, as reported by NorthernIrelandWorld. Detective Inspector Stewart from the PSNI’s Collision Investigation Unit stated that officers and multi-agency emergency responders attended the crash site on Windyhill Road. Investigators have urged anyone who witnessed the collision, or who possesses dash-cam or other relevant footage, to submit evidence using the witness appeal portal online under reference 584 12/09/26, or to contact police on 101 or anonymously through Crimestoppers.
Condition of Other Involved Parties
A man in his 80s was also involved in the Saturday afternoon crash. According to updates provided by Derry Now, the man sustained injuries requiring hospital treatment and currently remains in a stable condition.
