If finalized, the transaction would more than double the South San Francisco-based firm’s valuation from its confirmed $7.6 billion Series H round earlier in 2026, pushing its cumulative capital raised close to $3 billion.
Funding Trajectory and Valuation Growth
According to Crypto Briefing, the company’s $7.6 billion valuation was established following a Series H round finalized earlier in 2026, which arrived in two tranches. An initial $600 million closed in January, led by Valor Equity Partners alongside Fidelity Management & Research Company, Baillie Gifford, Tiger Global, and Paradigm, followed by a $200 million extension in March. That Series H round already represented a near-doubling of the company’s 2023 Series F valuation of $4.2 billion. A new $1 billion injection at a $20 billion price tag would value the startup at roughly 2.6 times its confirmed valuation from just months prior.
Delivery Volume and Operational Scale
Underpinning the current fundraising talks are concrete operational milestones. According to reporting detailed by Crypto Briefing, Zipline has completed over 2 million commercial deliveries globally and is recording a 15% weekly increase in domestic delivery volumes. The company utilizes two distinct hardware and logistics systems. Platform 1 manages long-range logistics, while Platform 2 targets high-frequency, short-distance home deliveries, representing the largest addressable market in the United States. Furthermore, Zipline is actively discussing operational footprint expansion with the Federal Aviation Administration, with plans targeting up to 220,000 daily deliveries across multiple Texas metropolitan areas.
Evolution from Healthcare to Consumer Commerce
Founded in 2014, Zipline initially focused on transporting medical supplies via fixed-wing drones to remote clinics in Rwanda and Ghana. Parachute drops supplied traditional logistics networks with difficult-to-reach blood products, vaccines, and medications. The company has since diversified into retail, quick-commerce, and food delivery. A partnership with Uber Eats, scheduled for launch by the end of 2026, illustrates Zipline’s strategy to integrate directly into mainstream consumer delivery workflows. In the competitive landscape, Zipline squares off against Alphabet’s Wing and Amazon’s Prime Air, though industry analysts note that none of its rivals have reached the 2 million delivery milestone.
