Actor Park Ji-hoon won the grand prize for acting at the 8th Daejeon Special Video Film Festival’s DFX OTT Awards for his performance in the film The King and the Man, according to YY Entertainment. The victory marks Park’s first grand prize win for a film role at the event, which highlights special video and streaming content.
“I sincerely thank the 16.9 million viewers who loved The King and the Man,” Park said in his acceptance speech, as reported by YY Entertainment. “I received the grand prize on behalf of everyone. On one hand, I feel sorry and grateful.”

During his speech, Park reflected on the production environment and the relationships built during filming. He singled out actor Yoo Hae-jin, noting that the two remain in contact. Park also expressed gratitude to director Jang Hang-jun and actor Yoo Ji-tae, along with the rest of the cast and crew who supported the project.
“It was a set filled with nothing but truly happy memories throughout filming,” Park said. He also acknowledged his dedicated fanbase, known as May, stating, “Above all, I sincerely thank our May fandom, who constantly guides me and keeps me moving forward.” He concluded by sharing his career aspirations: “I want to become an actor with sincerity who can always be understood and persuade you.”
DFX OTT Awards Celebrates Special Effects and Performances
The Daejeon Special Video Film Festival focuses on special video content across South Korean film and streaming platforms. Alongside Park’s grand prize win, the 8th ceremony announced several other major category winners across acting and technical fields.
Oh Jung-se won for his performance in Everyone Is Fighting Their Own Worthlessness. Rookie acting awards went to Choi Yu-ri for the film Zombie Daughter and Lee Tae-kyung for the streaming series Bloodhounds 2.
