According to reporting from People, the newborn’s first name draws inspiration from the song “La Vie En Rose,” which Gaga famously covered in the 2018 film A Star Is Born. The multi-GRAMMY winner has a large tattoo on her spine featuring a single rose on a long stem alongside the title of the track written in script. Outlets reported that the middle name, Bean, likely honors late activist Carl Bean, whose work inspired Gaga’s anthem “Born This Way.”

Public Absence and Family Life

News of the birth followed months of speculation regarding the singer’s absence from the public eye. Page Six first confirmed the arrival of the couple’s child on September 11, publishing exclusive photographs of Gaga and Polansky stepping out for a walk with their newborn daughter in Northern California. Gaga, whose legal name is Stefani Joanne Angelina Germanotta, had kept a low profile since wrapping up her Mayhem Ball tour in April and last appeared in a fan-shared Instagram selfie in August.

A source told People that Gaga and Polansky both took time off work over the summer to spend with their daughter and that the couple beams when discussing parenthood.
