Business management platform Tide launched an integrated website builder called “Eigene Website” in Germany, allowing small business owners and freelancers to create and manage professional web presences without technical skills or programming knowledge.

What is Tide’s “Eigene Website” Tool?

According to Tide, the service is available immediately to all new and existing members in Germany and remains free of charge for the first twelve months. The feature expands Tide’s existing business management ecosystem, which already handles banking, invoicing, and accounting for small enterprises.

Why Small Businesses Need Centralized Web Presences

While many independent workers rely heavily on social media channels like Instagram and LinkedIn, feeds display businesses only in fragmented excerpts dictated by platform algorithms, according to Tide’s official corporate communications. Company representatives note that potential clients often intuitively check for a centralized web presence after receiving a personal recommendation for a trade business or service provider. An independent website bundles essential details—such as pricing, past references, and service terms—giving consumers a structured overview to evaluate quality and align expectations before making inquiries.

Addressing Administrative Time Constraints

The launch addresses severe administrative time pressures faced by independent operators in Germany. According to a Civey survey commissioned by Tide in March 2026, more than four out of ten self-employed professionals and small business owners spend at least six hours every week managing their finances and paperwork. Anna Fromme-Schoen, Managing Director for Germany at Tide, stated that business owners constantly weigh daily operational tasks against the time required to complete them. By combining banking, financing, administration, and now website creation into one platform, Tide aims to eliminate the technical setup hurdles that typically slow down web development projects.

Platform Expansion and Global Reach

Originally established in the United Kingdom in 2017, Tide has grown to serve business customers with a 15 percent market share in the UK, alongside numerous customers in India. The platform expanded operations into Germany in May 2024 and subsequently launched in France in September 2025. Backed by institutional investors including Anthemis, Augmentum Fintech, and the SBI Group, the company employs staff globally with the long-term objective of becoming the leading worldwide business management platform.
