Emergency responders arrived at the 1400 block of Alhambra around 1:30 p.m. Thursday following reports of gunfire. Officers found the 39-year-old woman injured and immediately transported her to a local hospital for treatment. As of Saturday, the investigation remains open with no suspect identified and no motive released, according to news4sanantonio.com.

Police have not released additional details regarding how many shots were fired or whether investigators are searching for multiple suspects. Authorities are asking anyone with information regarding the Thursday afternoon incident to contact the San Antonio Police Department.
Prior Police Responses on Alhambra Street
The 1400 block of Alhambra has previously drawn emergency responders for violent crime. According to KSAT, San Antonio police responded to a shooting at approximately 3:30 a.m. in 2019 along the same street, though officials have not confirmed if it occurred at the exact same address as the latest incident. In that 2019 case, officers located a 30-year-old man in the street suffering from a gunshot wound to the head, per KSAT reports.

San Antonio police subsequently arrested 27-year-old David Rodolfo Soto in connection with the 2019 attack, stating the shooting stemmed from a drug dispute. Court records cited by KSAT show Soto faced felony charges including aggravated assault with a deadly weapon and drug possession with intent to deliver, alongside weapons and body armor violations. His bail was set at $190,000.
Recent North Side Gun Violence Investigations
The Alhambra investigation follows another recent North Side shooting investigated by the San Antonio Police Department. According to KTSA News, officers responded to a shooting in the 4400 block of De Zavala Road around 3 a.m. Sunday after a fight broke out inside a vehicle.
Investigators stated that the victim in the De Zavala Road incident had just exited a business with a man and another woman. All three entered a car where an altercation began, prompting the man to exit, point a gun at the vehicle, and fire multiple shots, per KTSA News. The victim sustained three gunshot wounds to her hand, arm, and elbow, and was transported to the hospital with non-life-threatening injuries. Detectives continue to search for the man and woman who fled the scene before police arrived.
