A total of 619 flights experienced disruptions, with 332 departures and 287 arrivals facing delays as the severe weather impacted traffic flow. The Federal Aviation Administration’s departure delay mandate remained active until it was lifted at 3:30 p.m., after which no further traffic management programs were in place by the evening.
Airline Impacts and Severe Weather Conditions Across Colorado
Several major carriers experienced significant setbacks during the storm activity, with Southwest Airlines recording the highest number of delays, followed closely by United Airlines. SkyWest, Frontier Airlines, American Airlines, and Delta Air Lines also faced schedule disruptions, while United Airlines canceled seven flights. The disruptions coincided with severe thunderstorm watches across the area, during which landspout tornadoes were spotted on the Eastern Plains, creating challenging conditions for both incoming and outgoing aircraft.
