Hocevar managed to continue racing, eventually fighting his way to the front to battle Ty Gibbs on the final restart. However, with seven laps to go, Gibbs forced Hocevar up the track, allowing Logano to slip past both drivers and take the checkered flag. After climbing from his damaged car, Blaney voiced his frustration to the media regarding the incident. “He just kept coming left, never lifted and crashed me,” Blaney told reporters, as reported by mlive.com. “Something’s going to happen.”

Hocevar added that he felt Blaney instigated the confrontation after making a mistake on the track. “He, looked like, spun himself and then he wants to instigate a fight,” Hocevar stated to mlive.com. “So I was going to finish that.”
