Ubisoft has announced that Tom Clancy’s The Division 2: Echoes of Central Park will launch on November 3, bringing the online looter-shooter’s darkest and most disturbing expansion to date. Set in the summer following the events of Warlords of New York, the upcoming downloadable content invites players to explore Central Park and the Upper West Side for the first time in the franchise’s history. According to Ubisoft’s official announcements, the expansion features an open-world map roughly twice the size of the Battle for Brooklyn DLC, stretching from Lincoln Square to the Dakota District.
Exploring a Blighted Upper West Side and Central Park
The narrative of Echoes of Central Park centers around a society crippled by paranoia over an unknown sinister threat, where rumors transform into truth as citizens grow terrified. In a franchise first, the story is delivered through a flashback structure guided by a narrator. Players will investigate an overgrown Central Park that has expanded past its original barriers to reclaim famous New York City landmarks in the Upper West Side. Ubisoft notes that the park—historically used as a mass burial ground during the initial virus outbreak—went silent before a new apex threat took up residence in the shadows.
Agents can tackle the campaign and open-world environment either solo or in co-op. Players below Level 40 receive an immediate character boost to jump straight into the expansion.
Combat Alongside Three Unique Companions
During the mission, players will fight alongside three reluctant companions who require help overcoming their own inner demons before offering full combat support:
- Brayleigh Callahan: An MIT graduate and Olympic shooting medalist who serves as a sniper.
- Elwood Franklin: A former mall cop aspiring to join the NYPD who acts as a protector.
- Morse Feeney: A rugged veteran and former first-wave Division agent with a mysterious past who acts as an assault specialist.
According to Ubisoft, replaying missions with a different companion alters the gameplay experience, as each character reacts uniquely to unfolding combat situations. Companion-inspired outfits and a special skin for the new exotic weapon are included in the Echoes of Central Park Deluxe Edition.
A Roguelike Endgame Experience and New Gear
Upon entering Central Park, players must fight for survival as hunted prey without GPS assistance against a continuous flood of enemies. Ubisoft details that as agents gather information and gear, the dynamic shifts, allowing players to become the hunters. Mission performance directly impacts progression, with successful encounters granting exclusive rewards while poor performance introduces gameplay disadvantages.
Players who defeat the forces inhabiting the park can unlock six new skill variants inspired by the expansion’s horror theme, such as the Corrosive Trap and Gas Bomber. Additional loot includes a new gear set and a new exotic weapon named The Ratel. Pre-ordering the expansion grants access to the NY Purifier Mask when the DLC releases on November 3 across PlayStation, Xbox, and PC platforms via the Ubisoft Store, Steam, Epic Games Store, and Ubisoft+ subscriptions.
