The College Swim League launched its inaugural season on September 24, 2026, in Westmont, Illinois, bringing together top-tier collegiate swimming programs including Indiana, Michigan, Louisville, and Ohio State. Kicking off the competition in short-course yards format, the opening match featured fast swims, tactical individual and relay skins races, and standout individual performances across multiple events.
Women’s 200 Backstroke Opens CSL Season
Indiana swimmer Miranda Grana opened the competition by winning the women’s 200 backstroke with a time of 1:49.54. Grana’s performance secured a jackpot win under CSL rules, stealing points from trailing competitors due to her margin of victory. Haley McDonald of Michigan took third in 1:54.23, followed by KK LeBlanc of Ohio State in 1:54.92.
Men’s 200 Backstroke Highlights
In the men’s 200 backstroke event, Indiana’s Raekwon Noel secured another jackpot win for his team, touching the wall in 1:39.02. Filip Kosinski of Louisville finished second with a time of 1:39.82, coming within a tenth of a second of his personal best from the 2026 ACC Championships. David Kovacs of Indiana rounded out the top three, clocking a 1:41.98.
Women’s and Men’s 200 Breaststroke Results
Louisville’s Anastasia Gorbenko claimed victory in the women’s 200 breaststroke with a time of 2:06.32. Anita Bottazzo finished second for Indiana in 2:10.09, narrowly edging out Louisville’s Anna Inagaki, who posted a lifetime best of 2:10.51 for third place. On the men’s side, Josh Bey of Indiana swam a 1:52.46 to capture the top spot in the 200 breaststroke, executing a jackpot swim that claimed seventh and eighth place points from Ohio State. Toby Barnett placed second for Indiana with a time of 1:54.18.
Women’s 500 Freestyle Standouts
Michigan’s Hannah Bellard secured victory in the women’s 500 freestyle, posting a leading time of 4:36.54. Elizabeth Eichbrecht of Indiana finished second in 4:38.07, while Thilda Haell of Louisville took third with a time of 4:38.89. Kayla Han of Indiana rounded out the top performers with a time of 4:41.23.
