Security forces killed a terrorist belonging to Fitna al-Hindustan during an intelligence-based operation in Balochistan’s Kech district, Pakistan Television reported on Friday, citing security sources. The operation took place in the Mazaband Range near the Pakistan-Iran border after authorities detected terrorist movement.
Border Zone Raid Neutralizes Insurgent
Troops launched the timely engagement after tracking the suspects, successfully thwarting an attempt by the operatives to cross the border and flee into Iran, according to security officials.
“Security forces remain committed to eliminating terrorism from Balochistan,” security sources stated, adding that counterterrorism operations will continue until the last terrorist is eliminated.
The Federal Designation and Proxy War Accusations
The federal government officially designated all terrorist groups operating in Balochistan as Fitna al-Hindustan last year, accusing India of sponsoring a proxy war through the groups.

High-tempo operations are currently underway as part of the “Radd-ul-Fitna-3” campaign, which the military’s media wing describes as a counterterrorism operation aimed at eliminating Indian proxies.
A Steep Rise in Nationwide Militant Attacks
Terrorism has been a growing problem for Pakistan, with the number of attacks rising every year since 2022, according to data from the Armed Conflict Location & Event Data (ACLED) organization. The global monitoring organization recorded 2,425 attacks nationwide in 2025, marking an increase of nearly fourfold compared to 658 attacks in 2022.
While Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa has borne the brunt of terrorism, Balochistan remains a major target for Indian proxies aiming at civilians and military installations. On the final day of 2025, attackers targeted civilians in Gwadar and Kharan districts, where 18 people, including women, children, the elderly, and laborers, embraced martyrdom.
Coordinated Sweeps Across Western Provinces
Friday’s operation in Kech district follows a series of sweeps conducted by security forces across Pakistan’s western provinces. On August 21, security forces and police killed 49 terrorists during coordinated intelligence-based operations spanning multiple days across Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa and Balochistan.
Earlier in the week, security forces killed seven terrorists in Balochistan, alongside six others killed near Kalat. On Tuesday, security sources reported that six terrorists affiliated with the group were killed and nine suspected individuals were detained during an operation in the Saran Tangi area under Operation Shaban 2.
A day prior, four terrorists died in an exchange of fire with security forces in the Aphan Koh area of Prom Paroom in Panjgur district, according to state-run Radio Pakistan. Security sources confirmed that a large quantity of modern weapons and ammunition was recovered from the slain terrorists during the operations.
