Mexican artist Domelipa released her debut studio album, La del Arroba, on September 24 under her own record label, Lipa Music, distributed by Sony Music Latin. The 14-track project spans 39 minutes and features collaborations with Ozuna, Omar Montes, Corina Smith, 3AM, and Bolela across Latin pop, electro-pop, R&B, urban, regional Mexican, bachata, Mexican cumbia, and bedroom pop.
The Evolution of the At Sign Identity
The album’s title references the symbol that defined Domelipa’s digital presence long before she launched her music career. The at sign served as the access key for millions of followers across the internet. In La del Arroba, that handle transitions into an artistic declaration. Every track on the tracklist features an at sign prefix, including “@ME AFECTA”, “@INCONDICIONAL”, “@PIEDRA EN EL CAMINO”, “@NO BUSQUES MI NOMBRE”, “@OJITOS”, “@ELIZA”, “@UNA SEÑAL”, “@EVEREST”, “@AUDEMARS”, “@JUEVES”, “@ESE VATO”, “@BOMBA DE HUMO”, “@FANTASMA”, and “@DE MI PA MI”.
The visual direction of the release draws from 2016 digital culture, incorporating aesthetics from Snapchat, Twitter, BlackBerry, filters, and early screen identities. Rather than relying purely on nostalgia, the project reflects the perspective of a creator who grew up under public scrutiny online and now takes command of her own story.
Musical Range and Collaborations
The tracklist moves through distinct emotional shifts and sonic styles. “@ME AFECTA” establishes a sentimental opening tone, while “@INCONDICIONAL” addresses heartbreak through electropop, R&B, and urban sounds. Regional Mexican influences shape “@PIEDRA EN EL CAMINO”, and “@NO BUSQUES MI NOMBRE” frames a breakup as a statement of independence.

Recording sessions for La del Arroba took place in studios across Mexico City, Miami, and Madrid. Domelipa contributed as a composer and lyricist throughout the project, working alongside a production and writing team that includes Rych, Just Roger, Saak, Nicolas “Na’vi” De la Espriella, Honeyboos, Pablo César Rodríguez, Tunvao, Ovy On The Drums, Botlok, and Fuxbeat.
