Investigators report the incident occurred on the morning of September 11, 2026, in the 1600 block of South 21st Street, near 20th and Morris streets, after the suspect spent roughly ten minutes peering into windows and walking through nearby alleyways.
Surveillance Footage Captures Suspect Tracking Victim
According to the Philadelphia Police Department, the suspect targeted the resident after spotting them outside putting out the trash. The footage shows the man wearing dark clothes, a hooded sweatshirt with the hood pulled up, and a face mask while moving through the area before the attack. After watching the victim, the suspect rushed the front door and forced his way inside, immediately initiating a physical struggle.
Despite the sudden breach, the homeowner fought back against the intruder inside the residence. Police stated that the physical resistance forced the suspect to flee the scene empty-handed. Surveillance cameras captured the intruder sprinting down the street away from the home immediately following the failed break-in.
Police Investigation and Public Appeal
