Opening Round Leaderboard and Team Standings

Host institution New Mexico set the early pace in the tournament, carding a 13-under par 275 to claim the first-round lead. San Diego State followed in second place at 11-under par 277, while Long Beach State and BYU shared third place at 10-under par 278.

Santa Clara finished the first round in fifth place at 8-under par 280, followed by UTEP in sixth at 6-under par 282, and Colorado in seventh at 3-under par 285. SMU, Missouri, and Arizona logged matching scores of 2-under par 286 to tie for eighth place.

Rounding out the upper half of the tournament field, Arkansas State placed 11th at 1-under par 287, and UC Santa Barbara finished even-par in 12th. Grand Canyon, New Mexico State, and UNLV shared 13th place at 4-over par 292.

Arizona Individual Performances

Tianyi Xiong paced the Wildcats during the opening 18 holes with a 2-under par 70, putting him in a tie for 16th place individually. Jorge Sampedro contributed a 1-under par 71 to tie for 26th place.

Dillon Dean carded an even-par 72 to tie for 38th place, and William Wistrand shot a 1-over par 73 to tie for 48th. Matej Baca finished the first round with a 2-over par 74, tying for 59th place. Competing as an individual, Adam Fahey also carded a 1-over par 73 to tie for 48th.

Second Round Suspension and Schedule

Weather conditions in Albuquerque forced tournament officials to suspend the second round. Arizona had played through 13 to 14 holes of the second round when play was halted, sitting at 1-under par overall and 1-over par for the round, placing them 13th on the live leaderboard.

Tournament organizers scheduled the resumption of the second round for the following morning at 6:30 a.m. MST.
