Dune: The Experience Immersive Exhibit Coming to Los Angeles

“Dune: The Experience,” an interactive, floor-to-ceiling walk-through attraction, is scheduled to open in downtown Los Angeles in November to support the theatrical release of Denis Villeneuve’s “Dune: Part Three.” Produced by Fever in partnership with Legendary Entertainment, the ticketed event features approximately a dozen rooms showcasing costumes, props, and life-size vehicles from the cinematic franchise.

Attraction Layout and Interactive Rooms

The downtown Los Angeles exhibit will occupy a space in the Arts District at least through the end of December, with tickets priced between $30 and $45 going on sale October 7 on the official website. According to Rob Shalhoub, a team lead at Fever, visitors will explore roughly a dozen rooms designed for stays of about five minutes each. The experience incorporates projection-based environments depicting the desert planet of Arrakis, alongside rooms featuring ancient carvings with hidden messages and photo opportunities centered on Paul Atreides’ throne.

Walls within the venue will whisper as visitors move through the space, and separate rooms will focus individually on touch, sound, and visual elements to recreate the scale and dangers of the desert planet.

The Test of Humanity and Central Exhibits

A central centerpiece of the walk-through challenges guests to undergo the franchise’s “test of humanity,” a participatory exercise where participants place a hand inside a box. Shalhoub notes that the station is designed to put attendees on edge and immerse them in the intensity of the films without spoiling the exact mechanics of the interaction. Additional exhibits allow attendees to view production artifacts up close and explore themed food and cocktail areas designed for lingering after the tour.

Event Schedule and Touring Plans

While the Los Angeles installation has a confirmed opening window of November and a scheduled run through at least December, organizers have not yet announced exact opening and closing dates. Following its run in downtown’s Arts District alongside the December 18 theatrical release of “Dune: Part Three,” the immersive attraction is intended to tour additional locations.
