Two Florida universities earned spots in the top 25 for best college campuses nationwide in the latest rankings released by Niche.com. Florida State University and the University of Central Florida both outpaced several Ivy League institutions, including Yale, Princeton, and Harvard, according to data compiled from the U.S. Department of Education and student reviews.
Florida State University and University of Central Florida Rankings
Tallahassee’s Florida State University placed 19th on the Niche.com “Best College Campuses for 2027″ list, while Orlando’s University of Central Florida secured the 21st spot. Niche.com evaluates campuses based on statistics and student reviews concerning campus resources. The ranking methodology specifically considers resources across classrooms, labs, performance venues, housing, food, and recreational facilities, according to the ranking.
Broader Florida College Representation in Top 250
Beyond the top 25, 11 other Florida institutions appeared within the broader top 250 list released by Niche.com. Florida International University ranked 41st, followed closely by Florida Gateway College at 46th and Kesier University in Fort Lauderdale at 64th. Lynn University placed 80th, the University of South Florida landed at 133rd, Florida A&M University reached 173rd, and the University of Florida placed 178th. Additional Florida schools on the list include Florida Gulf Coast University at 186th and the University of South Florida’s St. Petersburg campus at 197th, alongside Rollins College at 51st and the University of Miami at 45th.
National Comparison and Methodology
The top 25 roster features schools such as the University of California – Los Angeles, Virginia Tech, the University of Georgia, Northwestern College in Iowa, Liberty University, Auburn University, High Point University, California Baptist University, the University of Mississippi, and the University of Texas at Austin. Additional institutions in the top tier include Columbia University, Mississippi University, Washington University in St. Louis, Rice University, the University of Dayton, James Madison University, the University of Alabama, Grand Canyon University, Vanderbilt University, Penn State, Utah State University, Kansas State University, and Yale University.
