Absolum Arrives on Xbox Series X|S and Game Pass This Month
Dotemu, Guard Crush Games, and Supamonks’ arcade-inspired beat ‘em up, Absolum, is set to launch on Xbox Series X|S and Xbox Game Pass on March 25, 2026. The game, which previously released on PlayStation 5, PlayStation 4, Nintendo Switch, and PC via Steam on October 9, 2025, has already surpassed 500,000 units sold across those platforms [Gematsu].
A Roguelite Beat ‘Em Up Experience
Absolum blends fast-paced, arcade-style combat with modern roguelite elements, set in the original fantasy world of Talamh [Dotemu]. The game’s narrative centers around a resistance against Sun King Azra and his Crimson Order after magic has been outlawed. Players seize on the role of one of four unique rebels, each possessing distinct skills, personalities, and motivations [Dotemu].
Gameplay Features
Players will engage in melee combat, utilizing spells, counters, and upgradable abilities. Absolum features hand-crafted stages and offers multiple paths to explore, ensuring a unique experience with each playthrough [Gematsu]. The game supports both solo play and cooperative multiplayer, allowing players to team up and restore magic to Talamh [Gematsu].
Development and Availability
Absolum is a collaborative effort between Dotemu, Guard Crush Games, and Supamonks. The project also received co-funding from the MEDIA strand of the European Union’s Creative Europe Programme [Dotemu]. In addition to being available on Xbox Series X|S via Game Pass, the game is priced at $24.99 on Steam, PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Nintendo Switch, and Xbox Series X [Dotemu].
