Aceh Requests Aid from United Nations Following Disasters

JAKARTA,KOMPAS.com – Minister of Home Affairs Tito Karnavian stated he will review a request from the aceh Provincial Government (Pemprov) too two United Nations (UN) institutions.

The Aceh Provincial Government has formally requested assistance from the United Nations Development Program (UNDP) and UNICEF to help manage the ongoing floods and landslides impacting the region.

“We’ll study it later,” Minister Karnavian briefly stated at the Palace Complex, Jakarta, on Monday, December 15, 2025.

The Minister admitted he was previously unaware of the Aceh government’s direct appeal to the two UN organizations.
