Advanzia Bank Launches Fee-Free Digital Mastercard Gold with Instant Availability
Advanzia Bank, Germany’s largest provider of installment credit cards with a 23% market share, has introduced the fee-free Mastercard Gold as a digital instant card, according to official company statements. The card becomes available within minutes of an online application, eliminating the need for physical delivery.
Key Features of the Digital Mastercard Gold
The digital Mastercard Gold eliminates annual fees and foreign transaction charges, offering travel insurance coverage including medical expenses up to €1 million, trip cancellation insurance up to €3,000, and liability coverage up to €350,000, according to Advanzia Bank’s press release. Customers can access the card instantly via their mobile app after a smartphone-based identity check and automated credit assessment, a process completed by 80% of users exclusively through mobile devices, as reported by Sinisa Preradovic, Senior Director at Advanzia Bank.
Market Position and Expansion Plans
With over 1.6 million active customers in Germany, Advanzia Bank holds a dominant position in the installment credit card sector. The digital card aims to address evolving consumer demands for immediate access to financial services, as noted by Mirjam Pape-Pizzardini, Head of Digital Marketing. The bank plans to expand the digital card to Austria, Luxembourg, Italy, and Spain, where it already operates, according to company filings.

Industry Context and Competitive Landscape
Traditional banks in Germany typically take 7–14 business days to issue physical credit cards, according to a 2023 report by the German Banking Association. Advanzia Bank’s move aligns with broader trends in digital banking, where 68% of European consumers prioritize instant service, per a 2024 EY survey. The bank’s 2024 financial results showed a 12% increase in digital account openings, underscoring the demand for frictionless financial products.
