Aggressive Man Attacking Women in Sofia’s Reduta District Identified

A 42-year-old man from Targovishte has been identified as the individual responsible for a series of aggressive incidents targeting women and girls in Sofia’s Reduta district. The Sofia Directorate of Internal Security (SDVR) has confirmed the man’s identity and criminal history.

Details of the Attacks

Victims have reported being pushed, punched, and spat upon by the man. In some instances, he allegedly brandished a knife and threw stones at passersby. Social media has played a role in raising awareness, with residents sharing photos of the man and warning others.

Victim Accounts

One victim recounted an incident shortly after New Year’s, noting the man’s visibly aggressive demeanor and warning her children to avoid him. She later reported that he followed her while she was walking to a tram stop, shouting threats. Her 19-year-old daughter was too reportedly threatened in March, leading to a car accident due to the daughter’s fear. The victims have filed complaints with the police and prosecutor’s office.

Another victim described an attack on March 6th near the “Boyan Magesnik” stop, where she was suddenly pushed by the man. She was alerted to the wider issue after seeing his pictures circulating online.

Criminal History

According to the SDVR, the man has a prior criminal record, with repeated sanctions until 2014. Since then, he has only received a ticket for a traffic violation. Authorities are currently gathering more information to determine if other individuals have been targeted.

Investigation and Response

The prosecutor and investigators have reportedly been careful in their investigation, seeking additional information about the man and potential other victims.
