What seems harmless at first glance, however, poses significant risks to privacy. Experts warn that the combination of biometric facial data and personal information from chat histories creates a complete profile of users. This data is of great interest to criminals as it enables tailored fraud and identity theft.

Unlike simple photo filters, this trend requires providing photos and contextual information. The AI uses stored details from previous conversations to create amazingly accurate caricatures. But storing this data poses risks: Once uploaded, users lose control of their biometric data, which may end up in large training data sets.

The long-term use of this data remains opaque for many users. Data protection advocates criticize that such behavior is being dangerously normalized. Users become accustomed to sharing intimate details with AI systems without considering the consequences. Particularly problematic is the possibility that this data could be used to create convincing deepfakes, which can lead to blackmail and social engineering attacks.
