Aichi-Nagoya 2026 Asian Para Games: Preparations Gain Momentum

With just over seven months remaining, preparations for the 5th Asian Para Games, set to take place in Aichi-Nagoya, Japan, are accelerating. The Aichi-Nagoya 2026 Asian Para Games Organising Committee (AINAGOC) recently hosted a key webinar for National Paralympic Committees (NPCs) across Asia, focusing on critical aspects of the Games’ logistics and athlete experience.

Key Areas of Alignment

The webinar brought together over 200 representatives from NPCs, AINAGOC, and the Asian Paralympic Committee (APC) to align on key areas, including:

  • Sport-specific requirements
  • Accommodation arrangements
  • Logistics planning
  • Medical services protocols

The goal is to ensure a seamless and athlete-centered Games experience for all participants.

Commitment to an Exceptional Games

Asian Paralympic Committee (APC) Chief Executive Officer Tarek Souei addressed the webinar participants, emphasizing the growing anticipation and collective commitment to delivering a successful event. “With almost 200 days to go, the anticipation is growing, and so is our shared commitment to deliver an exceptional Games that reflects the unity, strength, and progress of the Paralympic Movement across Asia,” Souei stated.

The Games Master Plan

The Aichi-Nagoya 2026 Asian Para Games are being guided by a comprehensive Games Master Plan. This plan, developed by AINAGOC, outlines the fundamental preparations and operational procedures for the Games, along with a detailed schedule. The Games Master Plan is based on the Aichi-Nagoya 2026 Asian Para Games Host City Agreement signed in October 2023 and will be submitted to the APC for review.

Road to Aichi-Nagoya 2026

Prior to the webinar, AINAGOC, the APC, and the Japanese Paralympic Committee (JPC) collaborated on the “Road to Aichi-Nagoya 2026” project. This initiative, implemented for the first time at the Asian Para Games, aims to promote parasports throughout Asia. “Road to Aichi-Nagoya 2026” was held to further promote parasports in Asian countries.

Looking Ahead

As the countdown continues, AINAGOC remains focused on finalizing preparations and ensuring a memorable and impactful Asian Para Games for athletes, officials, and fans alike. Further updates and information can be found on the official website.
