Thousands gathered at Mernda railway station in Melbourne on Friday to honor Aidan Becker, a 22-year-old security guard who was fatally attacked while intervening in an alleged robbery and assault. The vigil took place one week after the tragic incident, with Mr. Becker’s family expressing their profound grief and gratitude for the overwhelming community support.

According to police reports, Mr. Becker was attempting to assist a 14-year-old boy who was allegedly being robbed and assaulted with a machete at Mernda station last Friday.
