Aigars Ruņģis Launches New Company Following Cēsu Alus Acquisition of Valmiermuižas Alus

Aigars Ruņģis, the former co-owner of Valmiermuižas Alus, has established a new company, SIA “Zemes garša” (Taste of the Earth), according to information from Firmas.lv. The newly registered company has a share capital of 2,800 euros, with Ruņģis serving as the chairman of the board.

The company was officially registered in the Enterprise Register on March 24, 2026 and is legally based in Valmiera. Ruņģis indicated to LETA that even as the company is registered, operations have not yet commenced and declined to provide further details regarding its activities.

This development follows the January 2026 acquisition of Valmiermuižas Alus by Cēsu Alus, at which point Ruņģis announced his departure from the company. Prior to the acquisition, Valmiermuižas Alus was wholly owned by SIA Valmiermuižas investment fund. The investment fund’s capital was comprised of 60% ownership by SIA “Rungis” (solely owned by Aigars Ruņģis), 24% by the Austrian investment fund “Industrieliegenschaftenvervaltungs”, and 16% by “MVF40 Beteiligungs”, likewise registered in Austria.

In 2025, Valmiermuižas Alus reported a turnover of 10.5 million euros, representing a 5% increase compared to the previous year.
