Alabama Shakes will release their first new studio album in over a decade, titled I Must Be Dreaming, on August 28 via Island Records. The project marks the band’s first full-length effort since 2015’s Sound & Color, following the trio’s—Brittany Howard, Heath Fogg, and Zac Cockrell—official reunion after a surprise live performance in December 2024.
The Creative Vision Behind I Must Be Dreaming
In an official statement, Howard noted that the title carries a dual meaning: “It could be saying, ‘I must be dreaming, because the world is so fucking crazy right now.’ But it could also mean, ‘I must be dreaming, because the world is so incredibly beautiful.’ Both those things can be true at once.”
The record features 11 tracks, including previously released singles “American Dream” and “Another Life,” as well as the July 10 release, “I Feel Hope Coming.”

Following their reunion, the band has maintained an active touring schedule throughout 2026. The current trek includes festival appearances across Europe and a extensive run of North American dates featuring support from artists including Tedeschi Trucks Band, Mavis Staples, and Zach Bryan.
