Aldi Ireland’s Financial Performance
According to new accounts, Aldi Stores (Ireland) Ltd recorded a pretax loss of €20.1 million in the last fiscal year. This represents a significant shift from the €16.82 million profit recorded in 2023, a negative swing of €36.92 million.
Despite the loss, revenue increased by 1% to €2.12 billion. The directors attributed the reduced profit to a deliberate strategy of prioritizing investments in colleagues and customers, including keeping prices low and increasing staffing and remuneration. The company invested €92 million in improving its store and distribution network, opening two new stores in addition to six opened in 2023, bringing the total to 165 stores nationwide.
