Mexican singer Alejandra Guzmán suffered a medical emergency during her concert at the World Trade Center in Veracruz, forcing an abrupt end to her performance after her hip dislocated on stage, according to reports from ABC Noticias and El Nacional.
Stage Collapse at the World Trade Center
The 58-year-old artist was performing as part of her “Los que nos quedamos tour 2026” when she lost her balance during a choreographed routine. Two backup dancers immediately stepped in to support her as she was unable to remain standing on stage, according to El Nacional.
Direct Plea to the Audience
Addressing the audience directly into the microphone, Guzmán said, “Disculpen, se me zafó la cadera. Perdónenme, se me salió la cadera,” as reported by El Nacional. She asked for a doctor while visibly nervous, prompting her team and venue paramedics to enter the stage.
Paramedics placed the singer on a stretcher and evacuated her from the venue to a waiting ambulance around 9:45 p.m., according to ABC Noticias. Fans at the World Trade Center cheered and applauded as the vehicle departed for a private local hospital.
A History of Joint Complications
The incident stems from a complex medical history involving severe joint wear that previously required two titanium hip replacements, alongside complications stemming from a 2009 biopolymer injection, according to primary reports. In January of this year, Guzmán suffered a domestic fall at her residence that also resulted in a hip dislocation.
Hospital Bed Video Statement
Hours after the incident, traumatologist Eduardo Arévalo treated the singer, who later issued a video statement from her hospital bed to reassure fans. “Gracias a Dios ya me acomodaron la cadera y ya me encuentro bien,” Guzmán stated, adapting the lyrics of her hit song “Cuidado con el corazón” to comment on the situation.
Guzmán confirmed that her concert date in Veracruz is temporarily paused, promising audiences that she will return to the stage soon with full rock energy.
