Alfa Romeo 33 Stradale Crowned “Design of the Year”

The Alfa Romeo 33 Stradale has received the prestigious “Carro do Ano: Troféu Volante de Cristal” award in the “Design of the Year” category. This recognition celebrates the car’s design, echoing the aesthetics established by the original 1967 model designed by Franco Scaglione.

Prestigious Portuguese Competition

The “Carro do Ano: Troféu Volante de Cristal” is considered the most important car competition in Portugal, recognizing the best cars presented in 2025 across various categories.

Stellantis Group Success

The Alfa Romeo 33 Stradale wasn’t the only Stellantis vehicle to be honored. The Fiat Grande Panda La Prima was named the best city car, while the Leapmotor C10REEV took the award for best plug-in hybrid car. The Citroen e-C5 Aircross Max was recognized as the best family car.

Other Award Winners

Other winners included the Dacia Bigster, which won the overall prize as well as awards for best SUV and best technology. The Alpine A290 was awarded in the sports car category, the Mazda 6e was named best electric car, and the XPeng G9 was crowned best large SUV.

Exhibition in Portugal

One of the 33 Alfa Romeo 33 Stradale models was brought to Portugal for the jury to examine. The vehicle was also exhibited at the Museu de Arte Contemporânea Armando Martins in Lisbon, known as LIKE, allowing the public to view the handcrafted design.

The Alfa Romeo 33 Stradale is a supercar that pays tribute to the 1967 original, designed by Franco Scaglione. Only 33 unique examples of the modern model have been created, built by Italian artisans to high quality standards.

Powertrain Options

The supercar is available in two engine configurations: a thermal version producing around 650 HP, and a fully electric version with two motors delivering a total of 750 HP.

Formula 1 Development

The development of the car’s setup was entrusted to Formula 1 driver Valtteri Bottas, who refined the high-speed response on the Balocco track.
