Ali B Appeal Underway: Prosecution Calls for Increased Prison Term

The appeal hearing for Dutch rapper Ali B (Ali Bouali) is currently underway, with the Public Prosecution Service seeking a more severe sentence than the two-year prison term originally handed down by the Haarlem court in 2024. Prosecutors are requesting a three-year sentence, arguing for reconsideration of the rulings regarding alleged assaults on Naomi and Jill Helena, and the alleged rape of Ellen ten Damme.

Details of the Allegations

Ali B is appealing the verdict, hoping for complete exoneration. He maintains his innocence in all three cases. The original charges stemmed from accusations of assaulting three women between 2014, and 2018.

The Heiloo Case

Bouali was found guilty of raping a woman in Heiloo in August 2018, but not guilty of assault in the same case.

The Jill Helena Case

Jill Helena, a participant in “The Voice of Holland” in 2013, accused Bouali of sexual assault. However, the Public Prosecution Service has now abandoned the case against Ali B regarding Jill Helena due to a lack of supporting evidence, despite acknowledging the detail in her statements.

The Ellen ten Damme Case

Singer Ellen ten Damme alleges she was raped by Ali B in April 2014 during the filming of the television show “Ali B en de Muziekkaravaan” in Morocco. Ali B denies the rape allegation, claiming their interaction was limited to a single kiss. He presented footage from the show as evidence of a “playful and amicable connection.” Ten Damme reported the incident to police in 2022, leading to charges despite not filing a formal complaint at the time.

Ali B’s Defense

During the appeal hearing on March 24, 2026, Ali B reiterated his denial of all charges. He specifically stated that he and Ellen ten Damme “kissed once at De Parade, that’s all.” He too claimed his relationship with Jill Helena was a long-term affair involving consensual kissing. He described the allegations as “crazy.”

Threats Against Alleged Victims

Jill Helena, Ellen ten Damme, and Naomi, the women who have arrive forward with allegations against Ali B, have reportedly faced threats and even violence after sharing their experiences. Their lawyers disclosed this information on Tuesday.
