Amanda Sandrelli Honors Father Gino Paoli Following His Passing

A tender dedication from Amanda Sandrelli to her father, Gino Paoli, who passed away yesterday at the age of 91. The actress shared a recent black and white photograph of them together on her social media profiles. The image, taken on the occasion of her birthday, shows Sandrelli wearing a small crown with the inscription “Happy Birthday.” Accompanying the photo was a simple, heartfelt caption: “My dad” with a red heart.

The post quickly resonated with fans and fellow entertainment professionals, including Alessandro Gassmann and Bianca Guaccero, who wrote, “I called him that too, my dad. Sending a hug of affection.”

A Complex Family History

Amanda Sandrelli was born in Lausanne, Switzerland, in 1964, to Gino Paoli and Stefania Sandrelli. Her birth occurred during a period of social constraints, as Gino Paoli was already married to Anna Fabbri, with whom he had a son, Giovanni, just three months prior. Stefania Sandrelli was only 18 years old at the time.

Initially, Amanda inherited her mother’s surname, leading to misconceptions about her father’s acknowledgment of her. However, as clarified by Stefania Sandrelli, this was a mutual decision between the parents. Gino Paoli chose the name “Amanda,” while Stefania opted to provide her daughter her own surname. Amanda later legally added her father’s surname as an adult.

A Lasting Bond

Despite the unconventional circumstances surrounding her birth, Amanda Sandrelli maintained a strong and affectionate relationship with her father. She once described him as “a sort of Superman… as if he wasn’t afraid of anything,” and stated she herself felt no fear in his presence.

Gino Paoli’s funeral will be held privately, as requested by the family.
