Amazon EC2 X8i Instances Now Generally Available
Amazon EC2 X8i instances are now generally available,offering significant performance improvements for a variety of workloads. Powered by third-generation AMD EPYC processors, these instances deliver up to a 25% price-performance betterment over comparable EC2 instances.
Key Features:
* AMD EPYC Processors: X8i instances are built on third-generation AMD EPYC processors, providing high performance for compute-intensive applications.
* Instance bandwidth Configuration (IBC): Like other eighth-generation instance types, X8i instances feature IBC, allowing flexible allocation of bandwidth between network and EBS resources. This can be scaled up to 25% to optimize performance for databases, query processing, and logging.
* AWS Nitro System: These instances utilize sixth-generation AWS Nitro cards, offloading virtualization, storage, and networking functions to dedicated hardware. This enhances both performance and security.
* Purchase Options: X8i instances are available as On-Demand Instances, Savings Plans, and spot Instances.
Regional Availability:
X8i instances are currently available in teh following AWS Regions:
* US East (N. Virginia)
* US East (Ohio)
