According to reports from RTÉ, The Guardian, Evoke, and The Irish News, the 32-year-old creator announced the decision in a letter to viewers shared on social media, promising a final batch of episodes very soon.
“When I was 17, I thought that I might meet the love of my life on a date in a chicken shop,” Dimoldenberg wrote to her audience, as reported by EVOKE and The Irish News. “Since then, I’ve spent my entire twenties sat across from the most incredible people, people I’d always dreamt of meeting. All of them charmed me (some more than others), and I definitely charmed them. To me, the show is my very own romcom, and I have loved being able to share it with you.”
Origins and Rise on YouTube
Dimoldenberg originally launched the concept as a print column in the publication The Cut, where she interviewed grime artists and framed the conversations as romantic dates, according to EVOKE and The Irish News. She moved the project to YouTube in March 2014, filming her first platform interview with rapper Ghetts. Over the subsequent decade, her channel amassed more than three million subscribers.
Memorable episodes featured interviews with Andrew Garfield, Billie Eilish, Cher, Louis Theroux, and Jack Harlow, alongside recent guests such as Conan O’Brien, Sir Paul McCartney, and Zara Larsson, as detailed by EVOKE and The Irish News.
Industry Impact and Expansion
According to EVOKE and The Irish News, Dimoldenberg has since founded her own production company and reported from red carpets at major Hollywood events, including the Academy Awards and the Golden Globe Awards. She also made a cameo appearance as herself in the film The Devil Wears Prada 2.

Reflecting on her departure from the series, Dimoldenberg admitted she “never thought” she would end the show, but now feels it is time to “move on,” according to reports by EVOKE and The Irish News. While an exact premiere date for the final episodes has not been specified, viewers can expect the concluding instalments to drop on her channel in the near future.
