Owensboro Man Arrested for Alleged Steroid Trafficking A Daviess County man was arrested on April 24, 2026, after being caught attempting to ship anabolic steroids from a local business in Owensboro, according to the Daviess County Sheriff’s Office. The arrest followed a weeks-long investigation into Ryan Lehan, 41, of Owensboro, which began after authorities received tips from community members about his suspected involvement in drug trafficking. Detectives conducted multiple controlled purchases of anabolic steroids from Lehan during the investigation and were surveilling him when he arrived at a shipping business on Southtown Boulevard. At approximately 3:50 p.m., deputies approached Lehan at the store and placed him under arrest. During the arrest, authorities located additional suspected anabolic steroids in his possession that he was preparing to ship. Following the arrest, investigators obtained search warrants for Lehan’s vehicle and his apartment in the 2100 block of Carpenter Drive in Owensboro. A search of the vehicle revealed a cooler containing suspected anabolic steroids and syringes. At the apartment, detectives found suspected anabolic steroids, packaging vials and labels, printed instructions on how to mix ingredients to produce anabolic steroids, scales, syringes, and a loaded shotgun and rifle. All evidence was seized and logged into the Daviess County Sheriff’s Office property system. The suspected anabolic steroids will be sent to the Kentucky State Police Laboratory for analysis. Lehan was taken to the Daviess County Detention Center and charged with trafficking a controlled substance in the second degree and possession of drug paraphernalia. Authorities stated the investigation is ongoing and that additional charges may be filed. The case remains under active investigation by the Daviess County Sheriff’s Office Special Investigations Unit.
