Android Auto Updates: Games, Location Sharing, and More Roll Out in March 2026
Google is enhancing the Android experience with a new feature bundle released as part of the March 2026 Google Pixel Feature Drop. These updates span across the Android ecosystem, bringing new entertainment options to Android Auto, improved location sharing in Google Messages, streamlined item tracker integration, and a revamped app discovery process in the Google Play Store.
Kids Games Now Available on Android Auto
One of the most notable additions is a selection of games designed for children, playable on the car’s infotainment display while the vehicle is parked. Google has designated these titles as “Teacher Approved,” catering to children aged 3 to 12. The initial game lineup includes:
- Disney Coloring World
- LetraKid: Writing ABC for Kids
- Marvel HQ: Kids Super Hero Fun
- Draw a Stickman: EPIC 3
- Kids Games: For Toddlers 3–5
This feature transforms parked vehicles into temporary entertainment centers for young passengers.
Live Location Sharing in Google Messages
Android users can now share their live location directly within Google Messages. This feature utilizes Google’s Find Hub map interface, enabling users to send real-time location updates during conversations. Location sharing continues until manually stopped, providing a convenient way to maintain contacts informed of your whereabouts.
Improved Item Tracker Sharing with Airlines
Google is improving the integration of item trackers for travelers. If a bag with a compatible tracker is lost during a flight, users can generate a secure location-sharing link and send it directly to the airline. This eliminates the necessitate to verbally describe the tracker’s location to airline staff, potentially speeding up the recovery process.
Google Play Store Enhances App Discovery with Short-Form Videos
The Google Play Store is introducing a new app discovery tool featuring short-form video content. Users can scroll through a feed of videos demonstrating apps across categories like Photography, Shopping, Wellness, and Webtoons. This allows users to quickly understand an app’s functionality before downloading it.
Personalized Calling Cards on Android
Android users can now create their own personalized Calling Card, which automatically appears on the devices of contacts who have saved their information. Previously, only contacts could design cards for users.
Ongoing Android Ecosystem Improvements
These features are part of the March 2026 Android feature bundle and the latest Pixel Feature Drop. Google plans to continue delivering ecosystem-wide improvements through these periodic bundles, introducing practical features to Android devices throughout the year, outside of major Android version updates.
