Anduril Acquires ExoAnalytic Solutions to Bolster Space Domain Awareness

Defense technology firm Anduril Industries has acquired ExoAnalytic Solutions, a move aimed at strengthening its capabilities in space-based intelligence, surveillance, and reconnaissance (ISR). The acquisition, announced on Wednesday, March 11, 2026, will integrate ExoAnalytic’s extensive network of telescopes and data analytics into Anduril’s growing space division .

Expanding Capabilities in a Critical Domain

ExoAnalytic Solutions, founded in 2008, specializes in adapting missile defense sensor technology to track spacecraft in orbit . The company operates a network of 400 telescopes globally, providing persistent monitoring of objects in deep space. This network generates billions of observations, offering high-quality astrometric and photometric measurement data crucial for discerning satellite maneuvers, anomalies, and overall situational awareness .

Strategic Alignment with Pentagon Priorities

The acquisition aligns with increasing U.S. Department of Defense (DoD) focus on space as a critical war-fighting domain. Anduril intends to leverage ExoAnalytic’s technology to improve the DoD’s visibility in space, particularly in geostationary orbit, a valuable area used for communications, missile warning systems, and intelligence gathering . This move positions Anduril to potentially secure contracts related to President Donald Trump’s “Golden Dome” program, a $175 billion initiative to create a comprehensive air and missile defense system .

Integrating Expertise and Expanding Workforce

Anduril plans to fully integrate ExoAnalytic’s 130 employees into its existing space sector team of 120, more than doubling its workforce dedicated to space-related projects . Gokul Subramanian, Anduril’s senior vice president of engineering for software programs, emphasized ExoAnalytic’s expertise in digital signal processing, seeker theory, and target discrimination, which are vital for missile defense applications .

Focus on Military Applications

While Anduril will continue to serve ExoAnalytic’s existing commercial customers, the company intends to prioritize the development of space technologies tailored for military use. Subramanian stated that Anduril’s terrestrial operations are increasingly reliant on space-based assets, and the company’s focus will be on protecting space, ensuring access to space, and maintaining comprehensive tracking capabilities .

Anduril’s Growth and Future Investments

This acquisition comes as Anduril is reportedly in talks to roughly double its valuation in a new funding round, following a $2.5 billion raise at a $30.5 billion valuation in June 2025 . The company is also planning to launch three spacecraft this year as internally funded research and development projects, leveraging the capabilities gained through the ExoAnalytic acquisition .
