Angers Road Closures Scheduled for March to Facilitate Spring Maintenance and Flood Damage Repairs
Angers, Maine-et-Loire – Sections of the roadways on the banks of the Loire River in Angers will be closed for four nights in March to allow for essential spring maintenance and repairs stemming from the February floods. The Department of Maine-et-Loire has announced a schedule of closures designed to minimize disruption to the approximately 55,000 vehicles that use this route daily.
Maintenance and Repair Schedule
The Department’s services conduct annual spring maintenance, including sweeping the roadway, inspecting works, maintaining signage and tending to green spaces. This year’s program includes additional repairs necessitated by the damage caused by the exceptional floods experienced in February [Maine-et-Loire Department].
Closure Dates and Times
- Direction Paris-Nantes: Nights of March 17th to 19th, 2026, from 8:30 p.m. To 7:00 a.m.
- Direction Nantes-Paris: Nights of March 24th to 26th, 2026, from 8:45 p.m. To 7:00 a.m.
Detour Information
During the closures, traffic will be diverted via designated routes.
Paris-Nantes Direction
Motorists traveling from Paris to Nantes will be directed from exit n°15 at the “Saint Serge” interchange of the A11 motorway. They will continue on the A11 to exit n°16 “Avrillé/Terra Botanica,” then proceed towards Hauts de Saint-Aubin to access the districts on the right bank. The left bank will remain accessible via the Jean Moulin bridge, Boulevard Ramon, and Avenue Jean Joxé. Drivers approaching La Roseraie from the north are advised to use the eastern ring road (A87) and then the South boulevards.
Nantes-Paris Direction
Traffic from Nantes to Paris will be diverted from the Baumette interchange. Access to the center of Angers will be maintained via boulevard Barangé and the South Boulevards. To reach the A11 motorway towards Paris from these southern boulevards, motorists should use the Eastern ring road (A87).
