Angle Health, an AI-powered healthcare benefits platform founded by former Palantir Technologies engineers, has secured a $600 million financing round at a $2.7 billion valuation, according to announcements from Vitruvian Partners and Business Wire.

The financing structure comprises a $200 million Series C equity investment alongside a $400 million tender offer that delivers substantial liquidity to early backers. The new valuation more than doubles the startup’s December valuation, which followed a $134 million investment led by Portage Ventures. Town Hall Ventures, a healthcare firm co-founded by Andy Slavitt—who held health policy roles in the Biden and Obama administrations—joined as a new participant alongside returning investors PruVen Capital and Y Combinator.

Addressing Small Business Health Coverage Gaps

Chief Executive Ty Wang and Chief Technology Officer Anirban Gangopadhyay established Angle Health in 2019 after meeting as high-school students through the U.S. government’s Stokes Educational Scholarship program, prior to working together at Palantir Technologies. According to company statements, the founders launched the platform to tackle cost disparities and limited choices for small business employees compared to workers at larger corporations.

Operating since 2021, Angle Health currently serves more than 5,000 employers across 47 states, providing coverage options for small businesses ranging from restaurants and construction companies to local shops, with some client firms employing as few as two workers. According to Business Wire, the company has achieved four consecutive quarters of profitability and recorded 120% year-over-year growth.

AI-Driven Underwriting and Cost Control

Angle Health operates as an alternative to traditional health insurance by utilizing an artificial intelligence platform that functions similarly to an orchestra conductor, synchronizing coverage and steering small businesses toward lower-cost care alternatives such as at-home infusions and freestanding imaging centers rather than hospital-based services. The company’s Benefit Builder platform enables brokers to generate underwritten quotes in minutes, customize plans in real time, and utilize a proprietary Health Scorecard.

Jeremy Gelber, the Vitruvian partner who led his firm’s investment, noted that Angle Health’s AI underwriting allows small employers to manage thousands of different benefit designs while controlling expenses. Consulting firm WTW projected an 11.1% increase in U.S. employer healthcare costs for 2027, marking the steepest single-year rise in over two decades. In contrast, Wang reported that median premium increases among Angle Health’s renewing customers range between 5% and 7%, a stabilization metric that Gelber attributes to disciplined AI-driven expense management.
