‘Animal Control’ Renewed for Season 5 at Fox

According to Deadline, the decision to renew Animal Control was considered a “shoo-in” due to its success and the fact that Fox owns, produces, and distributes the series.

Animal Control has garnered significant viewership on Netflix, with the first three seasons accumulating over 1 billion minutes watched. This makes it the streamer’s top comedy series in total viewers and the third most-watched comedy trailing only Young Sheldon and Seinfeld.

Michael Thorn, President of Fox Television Network, stated, “With the writing, ensemble, and audience response all landing at new levels, renewing Animal Control was an easy decision.” He further noted that the show launched to new highs in its fourth season, a direct result of its creative growth, strong production team, and the performance of lead actor Joel McHale.

Created by Bob Fisher, Rob Greenberg, and Dan Sterling, Animal Control follows a group of animal control workers in Seattle. The series stars Joel McHale as Frank Shaw, a cynical Senior Animal Control Officer, alongside Vella Lovell, Michael Rowland, Ravi V. Patel, and Grace Palmer. The fourth season is currently airing on Fox, with three episodes remaining as of February 27, 2026.
