Anne Hathaway’s ‘Mother Mary’ Soundtrack: Details on the Synth-Pop Album and Latest Single “Burial”

Anne Hathaway is stepping into the music world with the upcoming release of the Mother Mary soundtrack. The seven-song album, arriving April 17 via A24 Music, features Hathaway singing all tracks and is a central component of the psychological drama-thriller film of the same name, set to premiere in limited theaters on April 17, 2026, followed by a wide release on April 24, 2026.

“Burial” – A Collaboration with Charli XCX and Jack Antonoff

The first single from the soundtrack, “Burial,” released on March 5, 2026, was co-written by Hathaway alongside Charli XCX, Jack Antonoff, and George Daniel of The 1975 The Fader. The song is described as a dramatic synth-pop track reminiscent of Lady Gaga’s “Mayhem” era, with melodic elements echoing Charli XCX’s signature style The Fader.

The Creative Team Behind the Music

The Mother Mary soundtrack is largely the product of a collaborative effort between Hathaway, Charli XCX, and Jack Antonoff. FKA Twigs also contributed to the songwriting and production, and will feature on the album, in addition to her role in the film Wikipedia.
