Anthropic released a Super Bowl commercial criticizing OpenAI.

Anthropic spent millions of dollars on advertising during Super Bowl LX, criticizing its competitor OpenAI for plans to include advertising in the free version of ChatGPT. This marks the first time Anthropic’s chatbot Claude has appeared in a Super Bowl ad campaign, marking a bold move in the competition between artificial intelligence companies.

In the commercial, a young man playing sports receives advice from a “chatbot” but is interrupted by advertisements for shoes. The message ends with the words: « Advertising comes to the world of AI. But not into Claude’s world.”

Anthropic wants to highlight the difference between itself and OpenAI. As such, Anthropic claims that Claude’s communications will be clean, unencumbered by commercial elements, and will be aimed at creating trust and comfort for users.

The commercials will officially go live on Feb. 8, with one running 30 minutes before the broadcast and another during the first half of the 2025 NFL Finals, America’s biggest sporting event.

In MLB, players can control characters created by artificial intelligence.

Major League Baseball (MLB) has entered into an agreement with technology company Genies to create artificially intelligent characters based on the players. These avatars will be able to communicate and interact directly with fans, ushering in a new approach to player-spectator interaction in the digital age.

According to the agreement, each AI character will reflect the voice and preferences of the real player. Genies may charge fees for dialogue, in-game features and related digital products. However, the company has not yet revealed which players will be included in the first phase.

This is an experimental move that demonstrates MLB’s commitment to combining traditional sports with artificial intelligence technology to enhance fan engagement. If successful, this model could become a new trend in the sports industry, where players are present not only on the court, but also in the digital space.

Apple has integrated an artificial intelligence chatbot into CarPlay.

Apple is exploring ways to integrate artificial intelligence chatbot apps such as ChatGPT, Claude and Gemini into its CarPlay system. According to Bloomberg, the goal is to allow users to communicate directly with chatbots on their car screen, along with familiar apps such as Apple Music, instant messengers and navigation.

Currently, CarPlay works by connecting the iPhone to the car’s infotainment system, displaying apps on the central screen. The new generation of CarPlay Ultra extends to the digital instrument panel in front of the driver, allowing control of multiple vehicle settings. The addition of an AI chatbot could potentially replace Siri, Apple’s voice assistant, in the driving experience.

The move shows that Apple is looking to catch up with the AI trend in the auto industry, where both tech companies and automakers want to transform the interior into a smart space. If successful, CarPlay will put an AI-powered communications platform right at the helm, opening up new competition between Siri and leading chatbots.
