New Shi’ite Terror Group ‘Ashab Al Yamin’ Claims Responsibility for Attacks on Jewish Institutions in Europe

A newly emerged Shi’ite terror group, calling itself Ashab Al Yamin (People of the Right Hand), has claimed responsibility for a series of antisemitic attacks targeting Jewish institutions across Europe, including incidents in the Netherlands and potentially elsewhere. The group’s sudden appearance and lack of a significant online presence are raising concerns among security officials.

Recent Attacks and Claims of Responsibility

On March 14, 2026, an explosion damaged a Jewish school in Amsterdam, Netherlands. Authorities are investigating the incident as a targeted attack as reported by the Jerusalem Post. Ashab Al Yamin claimed responsibility for the Amsterdam bombing.

This attack followed an earlier explosive device detonation at a synagogue in Rotterdam, Netherlands, earlier this week. The Jerusalem Post reports these are the second and first attacks, respectively, against Jewish targets in the Netherlands within a week.

The group has also claimed responsibility for synagogue attacks across Europe, according to the Jerusalem Post.

What is Ashab Al Yamin?

Ashab Al Yamin is a new Shi’ite terror group that seemingly did not exist before this week. Unusually, the group does not have its own Telegram or social media channels, a common practice for such organizations according to the Jerusalem Post.

Potential Connections and Concerns

Although details about the group’s structure and leadership remain scarce, authorities are investigating potential links between the attacks and individuals on the run. NOS reports that investigators are linking the school and synagogue attackers.

A Facebook post from June 23, 2025, mentions a group with a similar name, Harakat Ashab al-Yamin al-Islamia, claiming responsibility for Iran’s bombings towards bases in Qatar and Iraq as noted on Facebook.

Iran and Regional Instability

Concerns are rising about the potential for increased regional instability, particularly in light of the ongoing situation in Iran. Fidelity reports that the war in Iran is bringing new insecurity to the Netherlands.

Mojtaba Khamenei, the son of Iran’s former supreme leader, Ali Khamenei, is a figure of interest in regional security discussions according to the Center for Extremism (CEP) on X.
